weekend happenings: rummaging & antiquing

May 4

Spring is here and we’re deep into the church rummage sale season in Toronto. I shopped at a couple of sales in the west end last weekend, and even though I didn’t come across any fabulous finds, I’m not deterred from hitting a couple of my favourite sales again this coming Saturday, May 7. Oh how I love the thrill of the hunt for a unique vintage piece at a thrifty price!

The timing of the sales will prove to be a challenge – for which sale should I be sure to be in the pre-opening line? Oh the dilemma! (Note the lines start forming at least 1/2 hour before the sales start.)

Throwing another element to the scheduling this Saturday is the Aberfoyle Antique Market’s special Saturday spring sale (just a short drive west of Toronto) where many vendors in addition to the permanent Sunday vendors will be selling their wares.
