blog podium take two: the business of blogging

May 31

BlogPodium was back for round two this past Saturday with a half day format and over 200 bloggers in attendance at the newly renovated Arcadian Loft. ‘The Business of Blogging’ event organizers Jennifer Flores of Rambling Renovators and Lindsay Stephenson of Little House Blog, did another fantastic job in creating a forum that educates and inspires Canadian bloggers.

Keynote speaker Nicole Balch of Making it Lovely shared her experiences and learnings in monetizing her successful blog.

A panel made up of  Christine Dovey  of Bijou and Boheme, Lindsay Stephenson of Little House Blog , Laura Muirhead of Tribal DDB and Cheryl Kozoriz of GlucksteinHome and moderated by Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault of Benjamin Moore/Cityline shared their perspectives on generating revenue from blogs, from the blogger and vendor/agency point of view.

In addition to the many generous sponsors and vendors on hand to meet and greet and chat about integrating businesses and brands with our blogs, a number of prizes were to be won, and a winner I was. Not only did I walk away from the event more informed about how to reap rewards from my blog beyond living my passion for writing, design, cuisine, travel, and life but I also left with a door prize – a  trio of beautifully designed and quite coveted Ulster Weavers limited edition tea towels exclusively designed for the Bay by Alanna Cavanagh, Virginia Johnson, and Bev Hisey.

Takin’ the tea towel prize!
